
Breakfast with Santa

The Daughters of Isabella hosted a successful Breakfast with Santa event at the Parish Hall. Attendees enjoyed a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, toast, hot cocoa, coffee and tea.
The children had a blast taking photos and receiving gifts from Santa. The program featured a beautiful nativity tableau presentation, participated in by the Daughters' children, grandchildren and the youth group. Other activities included arts and crafts, face painting and a special wish-writing station for kids to share their Christmas wishes with Santa.
It was a wonderful event for the parishioners and their family.


International Food Festival

The doors to IFF 2024 swung open right after the Saturday 5 PM mass, welcoming everyone to a vibrant celebration of cultures. This year, the host countries included the Caribbean Islands (Guyana and Trinidad), Congo, India, Indonesia, Italy, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, Sri Lanka, Venezuela, along with representatives from the International community and Canada. Each contributed their time and delicious cuisine, creating a rich tapestry of flavors.
DJ Croydon D'Mello, a parishioner, set the atmosphere with great music, responding to shoutouts and dance requests, which kept the energy high throughout the event. Dignitaries such as Brea Corbett, School Board Trustee; Sheref Sabawy, MPP for Mississauga, Erin Mills; and Iqra Khalid, MP for Mississauga, Erin Mills, stopped by to lend their support.
This year’s festival was remarkable in every aspect, and the Daughters received overwhelmingly positive feedback and encouragement from attendees. The sense of community and celebration was palpable, making IFF 2024 an unforgettable experience for all involved.

The Knights and Daughters, along with the other parish ministries, surprised Fr. Mark with a celebration for his 60th Birthday.














Mother's Day Celebration
May 11, 2024
Mother's day was celebrtaed post the May general meeting on Satuday, May 11th 2024 at St. Josephine Bakitha Parish Hall. Judy & Fel along with the social committee (Natalia, Maria, Beth, Millet, Edith, Ximena) planned and executed the celebrations to perfection. 29 Daughters pitched in and participated in the celebration. Balloon bouquets for the decor was done by Ximena, personalized and beautifully wrapped Giveaways were sponsored & given out by Edith (cupcakes) & Eva Mendes (chocolates), Flower making activity was conducted by Jane, She taught the daughtes to make pretty paper flowers, Main course had Shawerma, Fish cutlets (Maria), Shrimp puffs (Judy) Salads (Jane) and yummicilious desserts included cake (Palmira), God's own food (Beth), Casava cake (Camia), Fruit cake (Sandra), Raspberry cupcakes with white chcolate frosting (Ximena), Chocolates & etc. Water & pop was brought by Natalia. The celebrations ended at 1:00pm

The Daughters distributed Chocolate Easter Eggs after the
Easter Vigil (March 30) and Easter Sunday (March 31) Masses




Paupers Meal
Holy Wednesday
March 27, 2024, 6:30pm-8pm
The Daughters hosted the annual Pauper's Meal on Holy Wednesday at a nominal cost. Janette Cutinho and her group of DOI helpers prepared a delicious meatless pasta meal with braised vegetables. For dessert, a banana and a rice krispy square was served, along with coffee, tea, and water. It was a well-attended event.

Feast of St. Josephine Bakitha

Mass was celebrated at 7pm
he Daughters and Knights processed into the Church carrying a large portrait of St. Josephine Bakhita that was placed besides the Altar. Fr. Martin and Deacon Roman celebrated the Liturgy. After Mass, everyone enjoyed some cake and coffee in the Parish Hall.

DOI Christmas Lunch

Ximena, Beth, Judy & Amanda took the responsibility and manged all the arrangements of the lunch event. A variety of starters, homemade wine, sumptious buffet with mouth watering desserts with fun games and beautifully wrapped giveaways made the afternoon, exciting, Christmassy and an eventful one.

An event orgnaized for the children upto age 12. Eva Rodrigues led the social committee for this event. Breakfast with Santa started with the emcee, Beth welcoming the crowd followed by breakfast until 11am. The nativity video was projected. Ximena, the in-house dj played the best of Christmas collections filling the hall with Christmas spirit. Santa was led into the hall by Rebecca, as he paraded around welcoming everyone; the children were overjoyed to see Santa walking around. Photograph session with Santa was followed by distribution of loot bags to the children. The Art corner and Face painting kept the children happy and busy. The event ended with a brief dance session.










International Food Festival

The Daughters took the overall responsibility of this parish event. Judy along with Fel headed this event which was a tremendous success. Countries, Canada, Italy, India/Pak, Philippines, Indonesia, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Poland, to name a few had tables loaded with cusine of their respective lands. All the ministries (Squires, Knights of Colombus, Bible Study, Youth ) of the parish participated and supported the event. Daughters, Natalia and Millet, were the emcee's and with their flawless elequence enthralled the crowd. The shoutout corner, which played music with the personalised message added glamour to the evening. Amazing food, good music and overwhelming turnout of the crowd and the dace session at the end made the event a grand and successful one.
